Commentary:May 1939 a ship, the MS St Louis sailed from Germany to Cuba, the US & Canada with 937 Jewish refugees seeking asylum from Nazi persecution. The US Government (along with the Cuban & Canadian Governments) refused to permit the passengers to disembark. The St Louis sailed back to Europe and death for many of the passengers. History repeats.
